Dr. Eddie El-Yussif
Board Certified Orthopedic Surgeon
Dr. Eddie El-Yussif made Metropolitan Detroit his home in August of 2009, when he joined the the medical staff of Henry Ford Macomb Hospital in Clinton Township. Raised in Fairfax County, Virginia, Dr. El-Yussif graduated with honors from The University of Virginia, received his medical degree at The Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences, and completed his residency in Orthopaedic Surgery at Garden City Osteopathic Hospital (Garden City, MI), an affiliate of Michigan State University. He is a clinical instructor at Michigan State University School of Medicine.
During residency, he was a chief resident and took an active role teaching his junior residents. He received top national honors for his research paper Distal Femur Fractures in Osteopenic Patients: Plates vs. Nails. Following his residency, Dr. El-Yussif furthered his training in knee arthroplasty alongside the pioneers of joint replacement, as a fellow of the world-renowned Anderson Orthopaedic Research Institute in Alexandria, VA. In his fellowship, Dr. El-Yussif studied the innovative techniques of minimally invasive total knee replacement, partial knee replacements, and complex knee revision arthroplasty.
FAAOS designation is a distinction of the Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons. It differentiates surgeons from other musculoskeletal professionals by their expertise, commitment to patients, education, and continued professional development.
